Another advenature on the farm..

It snowed last night we had about 20 some inches of snow. Gordon and I decided we needed to go and check the heifers . He was worried about one of the heifers .So decieded to go into ww and get some breakfast.but we didn't make . We got stuck on the highway ..Thank God for cell phones. We called the county and they brought a snow blower and resuced us .We was there for about 4 hours.... So for breakfast we had water and peanuts..It was kinda fun. I took pictures .When we got resuced we went home and stayed until late afternoon. and we finally got in to check the herifer .. and no she didn't have her baby.. .As you can see I don't have a dull moment with Gordon.. There is always something new going on... here are some pics of the snow..

well it all the new calves have been born.We have 4 more and then we're finished. I learn one more thing about being a farmers wife.. I learned how to herd the cows and the calves off the wheat field. You take a long stick and you yell at them and walk across the wheat field with them..This wasn't very much fun.. It was cold and there was alot green stuff on the ground.,(yuck). But Gordon said we did a good job getting them into the lane.

So today we are going to work in the yard and get ready for spring.This will be my favorite time of the year with all the flowers that we have.We also started our garden .We got onions and patotes in the ground.. So we will have all kinds

my lastes lesson in being a farmers wife??

Don't get out of the truck when a cow just had a baby..... This morning i went with Gordon to check the cow for new babies and we had three or four of them.So Gordon wanted to put them on the wheat field . He started herding them down the side of the pasture and he got one in the corner of the field and he told me to get out and yell at her to get moving instead she turned around and started charging at me.. So i run to the truck and closed the door.. Gordon was surprises that she charged me and he said he never saw me move as fast as i did toward the truck.. Then we got her started to the wheat field and she turned around and chared the truck.. He said i had the funnest look on my face.. Now i know not to get out of the truck when a cow has a new baby..

my lastest lesson..

Sorry i haven't posted anything lately but we have been busy. A couple of weekend ago i went out to Troy's and Erin and Tatum's . Friday we went to watch Tatum's first gymnastic class it was so cute.She had alot of fun and i know Erin did.. I think Troy had fun watching them too.. There was 19 little kids in Tatum's group.. Like I said it was to cute.. Well i ended up getting sick out there so i left early Sunday morning and got home around 11:00 and spent the rest of the day in my chair.
Well, i guess you want to know my latest lesson..Troy youll get a kick out of this..Gordon and I are calving out some heifers for Calvin.And we had some Gordon was worried about.So we was going to put the ones that was going to have problems with a corral..And so we had to sort them out.. well i let the ones out that was suppose to stay in the pen.So we had to get them back in the pen and start all over again this time in dark... This time i did a fairly good job only one got out that was suppose to stay in..Gordon calls me a "city girl" and i need some lesson on sorting.. Now i see what Troy does.. Its hard.. Well that just about it for now.. We have to go out later on in the night to check the calves..

CHRISTMAS

My Christmas was a quite different them in years past..It just wasn't Christmas without Wade and Deane and my bother Pete.. I had to work Christmas Eve and then I went over to Bill and Teresa's for dinner .. It was nice just like old times..Randy was there and it was good to see him and Kim and Claycee.. I got tickled at Claycee he wanted to shake my hand instead of giving me a hug i told him that was old new.. Hugs from now on..Of course Tatum ,Troy and Erin was there.
Then I went over Christmas Day and I went out to Troy's for the weekend. Troy drove my truck and I rode with Erin and Tatum..
I took Tatum's presents out there so she can open them up..She was so tired when we got there so she opened them up the next day. I got her a Dora Tent she had a ball with it.. Troy and Erin went out Saturday night and Tatum and I stayed home and watched Dora movies.. I know the Dora and the snow princess's by heart.. :O).
Erin go me a neat present . Movies from nextflix.. I now can watch movies while Gordon watches basketball.. I hate basketball.. So thanks Erin and Troy now i can watch movies instead of being bored for the basketball season..

Thankgiving Day

Well this is the third time I've tried to put one my blog.. So here i go again.
Thankgiving Day i got up around 615 and headed out to Troy's and Erin's for Thanksgiving. Thank goodness the weather was good.
When i got there Bill and Teresa was there and we visited while Erin was cooking .We visited for awhile and then Erin came in and told us that her oven quit .So we had to put the turkey on the grill to finish cooking and we did the rest of the dinner in toaster oven and the microwave.. Erin's dinner was wonderful.. My hat goes off to Erin... While we was helping Erin in the kitchen i told Teresa it was like old time. Everyone pitching in and helping in the kitchen, and she agreed.
Bill was is funny self but you could tell he was hurting.. Bill and Teresa left that afternoon. We tried to get them to stay the night but bill was hurting.I tried to put him on guilt trip like he used to do with me when i wanted to go home.. but it didn't work.. I told him i had to beg my boss to let me come in late on Friday .... But they left anyway...
I stayed the night and left the next day ..
Then i got a phone call from Andy Friday afternoon .Telling me that Wade my bother in law passed away Friday morning.. I was so in shock of it Gordon had to come in and get me. I never though that Wade would be gone so fast.. I think this was the hardest time of them all ..Cause he went so fast.
Andy said that he had a massive stroke. But now he is with Deane and they are very happy..
Im going to miss him .. He was like a dad to me.
The funeral was Tuesday and there was alot of people there.. Im so glad that Troy and Erin and Tatum was there. . Troy has been here for me these few years of the losses i have had. I know that BJ and Delana would be here too if they lived closer. I just want you guys to remember that Wade and Deane love you guys a bunch. Wade always asked about you guys. And he enjoyed the pics of the Jayce Lana and Tatum. He will be missed..
I spent alot of time with Andy and he's alot like his dad in many ways , but in some of his looks is like BJ. Did you know you had Twin..BJ????
